If you’ve successfully mastered a single fanveil, take the next step and challenge yourself to master two! Dancing with double fanveils helps you to develop your muscle co-ordination, and to become mindful of the way your movements cause two props to interact with each other and your dance.

They take your isolation techniques to the next level as both of your arms, wrists and hands are engaged in strong, consistent, rapid movements while the rest of your body remains fluid and relaxed. Fine tune your multitasking skills as you discover the endless artistry double fanveils can create!

And you can welcome new members to your fanveils’ fan club by taking part in the (optional) performance at our end of term Belly Dance Showcase – your guests are sure to want an autograph after the show!

Level: For students who’ve danced with single (or double) fanveils before. Or for fast learners who like a challenge if you don’t have any previous fanveils experience 🙂

Note: Fanveils are provided for use during classes, but are not available to take home or use in the Showcase. We advise that you invest in a pair for your home practice and/or if you’d like to perform at the show.

Entry to the venue is up to 15 minutes before class start time. Please sign in at reception on arrival (you don’t need to be a member of Nuffield) then head to the studio to dance with us!

Please note: Students may use the gym’s changing rooms and dance studio, but the use of any other facilities (e.g. showers, swimming pool etc.) is not permitted by the venue.

Disclaimer: As with any form of exercise, be sure to listen to your body and only do what feels comfortable for you. Your instructor will guide you safely through each class, but please note that you are responsible for your personal health at all times. Please speak to your doctor if you have any concerns before joining our classes. Healthy bodies are happy bodies!

Fees are non-refundable. If you miss 1 or 2 classes, you can take up to 2 replacement classes (subject to T&C here). You may also transfer your place to a friend if you can no longer make it, or apply for a future term transfer (subject to T&C here)

What to wear

Comfortable clothing that you can move and stretch in!

For example:

  • leggings
  • a short or long top
  • barefoot / anti-slip socks / flexible sole slipper
  • optional coinbelt / hipscarf

Don’t have a coinbelt? We sell some in classes, or you can simply bring a winter scarf to wrap around your hips. Some students don’t wear a scarf nor a belt so don’t worry if you prefer to opt out!
