What is it?

This is a training programme - entirely online - to become a beginner-level belly dance teacher. You'll learn to teach using our Level 1 foundation techniques and our tried-and-tested teaching methodology—designed to be adaptable to any content, but practised specifically through our Level 1 syllabus. It’s a standalone training that equips you to confidently lead beginner classes.

Last year we had trainees from Portugal, the Phillipines, and various regions of the UK
The year before that we had trainees in USA, Romania, Germany, and England

This year, 2026, dancers currently enrolled are from France and the Netherlands and we can't wait to welcome new dancers enrolling before we begin the training

After completing the course, you may wish to begin teaching right away—whether in a local gym, charity organisation, or wellness setting—or you may prefer to take more time to integrate and practise what you've learned.

While the training doesn’t include a job placement, we do hire exclusively from those who’ve trained with us, so if we’re a good fit, there may be opportunities to teach at our school in the future.

That said, the programme is designed to empower you to teach independently, and belly dance teaching can be applied in many settings beyond our school—including community arts, wellness, and even corporate environments.

Learn and grow alongside a close-knit,

supportive peer group

Who can join?

To join the programme, you’ll need to have at least completed our Level 1 and Level 2 belly dance courses—or be willing to complete them via the on-demand recordings from our previous Zoom Level 1 and Level 2 courses. (in person option also available for Level 2 London-based dancers during our April-June 2026 term)

If you’ve completed Levels 3, 4, 5, or 6—wonderful! That means you’ll bring more advanced technique and experience to your teaching. However, it’s not a requirement to have completed all levels before learning how to teach beginners.

In fact, last year one of our trainees had completed Level 2 and was enrolled in Level 3—and she did brilliantly. This shows that you don’t need to have mastered advanced techniques to be an effective teacher of the foundations. What’s most important is being able to clearly demonstrate the Level 1 techniques and being open to refining them based on feedback, as well as keen desire to learn leadership skills and intention to empower students.

During the early parts of the program, teacher trainees will submit video recordings of themselves performing the Level 1 movements. Fleur will review and give feedback, ensuring consistency in how the techniques are taught across the group.

Testimonials from last year:

Completing teacher training with Fleur is one of the best investments I have ever made in myself. I had never done dance teaching before and signing up felt like opening the first page in a new adventure. I entered the training with an open mind, curious to learn more about Fleur's teaching methodology.  We covered such a wide range of topics - from teaching persona, the importance of class rituals to designing a choreography.

Fleur is so generous in sharing tips, anecdotes and providing personal feedback. I left the course feeling well informed and with a clear structure for continuing my journey as a teacher - but more than that, I gained a confidence in myself that I could never have expected.

I now teach my own beginner's class in Birmingham and have a wonderful support network of fellow teacher trainees cheering me on. If you're thinking about signing up, I say go for it!

Fleur’s Teacher Training gave me confidence in teaching and made me enter the magical (and mathematical???) realm of music. Fleur broke down each class in segments so that we know how to structure each class. She differentiated how to teach week 1 from week 2 and so on…

She gave constructive criticism on our dancing, posture and how we should respond to students’ inquiries. We actually practised our teaching skills… by teaching each other and teaching our own full-length classes!

Fleur was very generous answering our questions. Whenever i had doubts or needed clarification on something, I’d email her and she would email right back (time-permitting)!

I learnt how to identify and count beats and differentiate it from melody, rhythm and harmony and I enjoyed it so much i was able to make my own choreography. Woohoo!!!

Lastly, I gained supportive friends in Kaniksha, Hannah, Awa and Teresa, who were my classmates in the training.

I’m very happy I took this class and I’ve already started teaching here in my little corner of the Philippines.

The programme provided a thorough introduction to teaching bellydance safely and effectively, whether in an online or studio setting. Fleur’s extensive experience and passion for the art truly shine through in the way she has structured the training—clear, comprehensive, and deeply inspiring. I came away feeling confident, supported, and ready to share the joy of bellydance with others!

What an amazing journey!! Even after 20 years of teaching bellydance, so much more to learn and discover, so many New perspectives. Not only from Fleur but also from all the other classmates. Especially the International background from where we all started was inspiring.

I have been long inspired by the magical way Fleur can take even the most nervous beginner student and have them shining on stage after just a ten week course. So this training was an amazing opportunity to learn about how all of this is put together and the methodology behind the scenes. The learning experience was so valuable.

We covered so much, learnt so much and yes, we had a lot to do but yet it didn't feel like hard work at all. Fleur is completely authentic, caring and such a dedicated teacher and she has a way of making everything flow and seem effortless somehow. It was just like having Sunday afternoon catch ups while drinking tea with friends.

I would really recommend this course. As well as teaching, It has deepened my understanding of dance, why we dance, movement, wellbeing and much more. I am really grateful to have had this experience.

Fleur is the most amazing teacher and person I have ever met in my entire life (sadly just online), her professional warmth makes every student want to become similar to her, to bring out the best version in themselves. I highly recommend this course to everyone who wants to learn from a beautiful teacher in and out. She is the best!
